*Respect for self, others, and property in words and actions inside and outside of school.
*Students do their own work - as assigned and on time. Homework is turned in at the start of each class.
*Book bags & purses belong in lockers - not inside this classroom.
*Good attendance - It's essential for both learning and teaching.
*A student who is absent from school must get a make-up slip from the office upon his/her return to school and turn in the make-up work within two school days to avoid a late penalty.
*Students follow all other school-wide policies as described in the student handbook.
Regarding the use of cell phones, iPods, iPads, laptops, or any similar devices within my classroom:
Researching (RELIABLE sources only, please)
Reading a book
*Device must be flat on your desk when in use
Work time with my permission
Communicating with others (including, but not limited to: texting, calling, or posting on Facebook or Twitter)
Creating noise (including alert tones or vibrations)
*Late work is accepted for 1/2 credit only.
*Late work will not be accepted once the unit it was assigned for is completed. In other words, all the work for the unit must be turned in by test day.
*All forms of cheating (including, but not limited to the following: plagiarism, working with another student on independent work, and copying answers) will result in a zero on the assignment or test. Further consequences may be assigned at my discretion.
*Behavioral problems will be addressed through verbal and nonverbal warnings, Stop and Think Tickets, conferences, detentions, or office referrals as necessary.
